Even the most obscure items can be of use again before they are thought of as trash.

          Dryer Lint and Dryer Sheets
Dryer lint and dryer sheets can be reclaimed and reused in environmentally beneficial ways.

Dryer Sheet Bouquet
You will need:
dryer sheets
food coloring
wire for stems
1. Fold three dryer sheets together, lengthwise, in an accordion fashion, with each fold about 1/2 inch wide.
2. Fold the sheet in half and wrap the center tightly with the wire, leaving some wire for the flower stem.
3. Then peal the layers apart and watch the flower appear.
4. In a pie tin, add a few drops of food coloring to a bit of water. Dip
the flower edges in the water until they take on the desired color.
5. Spritz with perfume, add to a vase, and you have a pretty room freshener.

Duster
Dryer sheets work wonderful to dust Venetian blinds.

Handmade Paper
Add dryer lint to your paper pulp to add texture (see paper making).

Nesting Material
Fill a mesh bag with a mixture of dryer lint, small pieces of yarn or string, and hair from your hairbrush. Hang the bag from a tree and birds will help themselves to use the materials for their nests.

Dryer lint makes a nice nesting material for your pet mouse, hamster, or guinea pig too.

Plant Mulch
Mix dryer lint with potting soil. The lint allows water to drain from potted plants, and adds moisture to the soil between watering.
You can also spread dryer lint on the surface soil to help conserve moisture for your indoor or outdoor plants. This helps hold moisture near the plant roots.
