| The United States Department of Agriculture offers a printable Woodsy Owl color book designed to help kids give a “hoot” about the environment. Packing Peanut Art Nontoxic, biodegradable, starch-based packing peanuts are 99.6% air and they melt in water. You can reuse these “peanuts” as building blocks or link them together to make jewelry. Just dip the ends in a little bit of water and they will stick together. Be careful, if you use too much water they will melt. You can color them with markers. PARENTAL HELP REQUIRED: Meat trays make great shrinky-dink material. You can cut out and color shapes with magic-markers. Heat oven to 450 degrees, then place shapes on foil and watch them shrink. These make great ornaments or charms. For instructions on other fun projects, click on the links under Kid's Activities in the upper left hand corner of this page. |
