          By recycling our plastic, we can dramatically reduce the amount of waste we generate, and help give it new life. Recycling plastic helps save energy, reduce green house gas, and conserve our natural resources.

*The Master Recyclers Program regrets to announce that the
scheduling of a future Master Recycler Plastics Roundup is placed on hold. Markets in the niche plastics recycled at the
Master Recycler Plastics Roundups have been affected by
recent economic fluctuations. There is the hope that this is a short term problem.

 
Recycling is still the right thing to do!
If you have the space, please store your miscellaneous plastic as though we were going to have a roundup.

You may recycle plastics numbered 1 through 7 (styrofoam #6 not included), plastic bags, CDs, DVDs, and jewel cases at the sites listed below:

Plastic tubs (yogurt, butter, etc.) and plastic containers where the neck is smaller than the base, may be recycled curbside.

While saving plastics for Master Recyclers Plastics Roundups, please
use the following guidelines:
(The unreliable nature of these niche plastic is one of the reasons
that they are not accepted in curbside programs.)
All items must be rinsed clean

Acceptable items:
miscellaneous plastics without numbers
(e.g. bottle caps, drink lids, DVD's, CD’s, CD cases, cereal liners,
straws, lawn/patio furniture, kids toys, pet igloos, laundry baskets, kiddy pools, & more, use your imagination)
plastic bags
plant containers and trays
plastics with numbers, sorted by number
(please no Styrofoam food trays even if they have a number)*

They cannot accept:
food-contaminated or dirty plastic
"biodegradable" plastic or plastic that says PLA 7 on the bottom
no plastic that contained motor oil, herbicides or pesticides
(a thin layer of dried paint is okay)
plastic with metal attached
PVC pipe
small toys
Styrofoam block, Styrofoam peanuts, Stryofoam food trays or
Styrofoam egg cartons (see more for recycling information),
