Urban Growth Bounty Class: Your Backyard Farmer;
Turn Your Lawn Into a Mini Farm

Individual classes are $35 or $300 for the entire nine-class series
Donna Smith and Robyn Streeter teach about organic farming. Their expertise is in small-scale urban farming and their intensive monthly classes are geared to seasonal tasks. Each class builds on the
previous meeting and by season's end you will have all the tools to grow successfully in your own backyard. This class is first in a series. Upcoming classes:
March 9: Garden planning using organic method techniques.
April 13: Natural fertilizers, watering, and cultural practices.
May 11: Bugs, weeds and trellising.
June 8: Set up and maintain your compost and worm system.
July 13: Plan your winter garden and make the harvest last.
August 10: Fall plantings and peak harvesting.
September 14: Cover crops and saving seed for next years garden.
October 12: Season extenders: cloching, cold frames and what to
